About me
🎶 Hey! Welcome to My Corner of the Internet!
I’m Anika Gatzke, a freshman at the University of Nevada, Reno, currently working toward my B.S. in Management and Marketing, with minors in music and possible communications.

I was born in Utah and raised in a small town in Nevada. As a kid, I traveled most of the United States and parts of Mexico and Canada, mostly because of family and friends who lived across those places over the years. I’ve also been involved in all kinds of community events and organizations throughout my life, which has led me to be the person I am today.
I’m all about creating connections and building community, which is something I learned a lot about through music. For me, music was never just about the pitches, the rhythms, or the sounds. It was more like building a supportive “wall”-not something that keeps people out, but brings people into an inner circle that supports your passion.
I am super passionate about how connections and opportunities go hand in hand. Through my connections, I’ve created opportunities, and through those opportunities, I’ve created connections, and in the end, that’s how art is made. As a student and, too, as a mentor in music, it’s our job to keep that legacy going and to help others find their own connection to the community.
If you’re wondering what I’m up to next, I’m always looking for ways to grow and create new opportunities, just like the music community helped me do.
